She didn't star in the item song in Dum Maaro Dum, despite her playing the female lead in the film.

As per Latest Bollywood Interviews, she said that, "Deepika is a good dancer so she was a great choice for the song. Also, the remixed Dum Maaro Dum has a rap feel to it. It takes time to grow on you and I am not a rap fan so I don't think I missed much."

In this Upcoming Next Bollywood Remake, Aishwarya Rai Husband Abhishek Bachchan will essay Amol Palekar's role, and Ajay Devgan Utpal Dutt's, to be produced by Ajay Devgn, is being directed by Rohit Shetty.

According to a Mid Day source, Devgan picked Bachchan for Palekar's role because Devgn feels that Bachchan has a wicked comic streak that no filmmaker has adequately exploited so far. Ajay is also close to the Bachchan family.
