(1) At 21st November, Sunday, Bipasha Basu who had earlier participated in the Mumbai Marathon paid an early morning visit to Delhi to flagging off the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon as she is the brand ambassador of the marathon which espouses the cause of education for the girl child.
As per Latest Bipasha Basu Interviews, she said that, "Firstly it is very important to study and be confident. Acting is a creative medium, it not only requires skill but also luck and love and support of people."
"I hope that Delhi has the same spirit or even better than Mumbai. I'm extremely excited and proud; being the face of a gold label marathon and it is amazing watching people celebrating their city together."
"People who are fit are my icons. Every time I hit the gym, I see 50- 60 year old aunties working out regularly which is brilliant sight."
The participants included athletes, corporate honchos and Bollywood glitterati too – Arshad Warsi and his wife Maria Goretti, Gul Panag, Rahul Bose were seen cheering the runners.
Anil Ambani, a regular participant in the Mumbai Marathon, ran in Delhi this year. Other participants included Rajan Mittal, Kiran Bedi and former Indian hockey captain Dhanraj Pillay.
