Sources say that these famous singers were close friends of Raj Kundra and hence did not charge a penny for the performance at the reception.However, the industry watchers are amazed at the non-inclusion of Akshay Kumar from the guest list, as Shilpa Shetty had already mended her ways with him and he had even attended the grand finale of ‘Bigg Boss 2’ on the request of his ex. In fact, the impression was that they had moved on in their respective lives and did not nurse any grudges against each other.Sources say that Shilpa Shetty had indeed moved on but her husband Raj Kundra was dead against Akshay Kumar coming to attend the function. The insiders reveal that Raj Kundra’s dislike of Akshay Kumar comes from the fact of a British tabloid publishing some intimate details about Shilpa and Akshay, when she had won Celebrity Big Brother in year 2007.The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that as Raj Kundra lives in the UK, he did not want to give any Masala to tabloids of that country about Shilpa Shetty (who has now become his wife) through the presence of Akshay Kumar, and hence had disapproved of the proposal to invite Akki.It may be recalled that Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty were a couple in Bollywood and had even featured in super hit films like ‘Dhadkan’. However, the relationship did not work out and Akki married Twinkle Khanna, leaving Shilpa in the lurch.
