Disney releasing Bollywood Actor Aamir Khan's Bollywood Released Movie 'Taare Zameen Par' in US

Taare Zameen Par' Bollywood star Aamir Khan’s award winning directorial debut, is being released in the US next month on DVD by the Walt Disney Studio as 'Like Stars on Earth'.

Releasing on January 12, 2010, 'Like Stars on Earth' includes seven Bollywood dance numbers, animated interludes and a brand new English-language track for the cross-cultural audience, a media release said.

"A little twinkling star of a movie", according to BBC Movie Reviews, 'Like Stars on Earth' produced, directed and starring Aamir Khan, features young newcomer Darsheel Safary in a performance that earned him a 2007 Filmfare nomination for Best Actor.

'Taare Zameen Par' was one of India's top grossing theatrical films of 2007.

The film revolves around eight-year-old Ishaan Awasthi (Darsheel Safary), a dyslexic child, struggling to read and write and unable to deliver the good grades and disciplined behavior expected by his parents and teachers.

Shipped off to a boarding school to straighten out, he meets a art teacher (Aamir Khan) who is determined to draw the introverted child out.

First look of Bollywood’s much-awaited film 'My name is Khan' that would be jointly distributed by Fox Star Studios and stars Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in lead roles was unveiled here on Wednesday.

The film, about an Indian Muslim in San Francisco embarking on a journey across the U. S., is due for release in February next year.

Khan while addressing news conference said that it's a movie of love and how it survives irrespective of obstacles. "This is a beautiful love story and it's a journey of two lovers – Kajol and I, the characters that we play.

And one is the physical journey to find love, and the other is an emotional journey to find love inspired of the problems that love might have brought to her. And at the end of the film, of course as love stories have, crossing all obstacles, we complete this journey and come together.

Fox Star Studios, a joint venture between Twentieth Century Fox and Star India, will be distributing "My Name is Khan" in India while Fox will release the film elsewhere. The movie will be screened at the 60th annual Berlin International Film Festival, next year.

Bollywood's who's who walked the ramp on Tuesday in the collection designed by aspiring fashion designing students, for the cause of girl child education.

The fashion show named 'Mizwan - Sonnets in fabric', was conceptualized by Namrita Goyal and styled by renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra and Anita Dongre. Goyal, 20, is daughter of Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal.

The show was organized by veteran actress Shabana Azmi. The funds raised from the event will be given to the Mizwan welfare society, founded by eminent poet Kaifi Azmi, father of Shabana Azmi, for the empowerment of girl child. The collection of the show was designed by young students of five renowned fashion institutes of Mumbai and was being judged by panel.

"What to me is very-very interesting is that you get generation next to get the opportunity of lifetime. They could never dream that while they are students all these leading stars would showcase their clothes and you connect it to a small little girl child that is still waiting to be empowered in Mizwan the village in which my father was born. His focus was the education of girl child," said Bollywood Hot Bold Classical Actress Shabana Azmi.

Fans celebrate Rajnikanth's 60th birthday in Chennai.

Enthusiastic fans of Tamil superstar Rajnikanth lined up a slew of activities to celebrate the 60th birthday of the actor in Chennai on Saturday.

Fans offered special prayers in temples for Rajnikanth's long life and some even visited his residence and offered prasadam.

However, Rajnikanth, who has acted in some 200 movies in nine languages till date, was reportedly busy shooting for his upcoming film 'Enthiran', opposite Bollywood Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

"He (Rajnikanth) is the greatest citizen of India and the golden son of Tamil Nadu. We are celebrating our superstar's 60th birthday. We wish him long life on behalf of people of Tamil Nadu," said Veldurai, a fan.

The 60-year-old actor stepped into the film world in 1975 with a debut in Kannada film Katha Sangama directed by Puttanna Kanagal.

Since then it has been a long journey for Rajnikanth having acted in 173 movies so far, including Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and Bengali films. He had his own share of big hits that include 'Murattukaalai', 'Pokkiri Raja', 'Thanikattu Raja', 'Naan Mahaan Alla' and 'Moondru Mugam' to name a few.

Rajinikanth also made a foray into Bollywood with Andha Kanoon, but couldn't make that much impact as he had in the south. Yet he continued to act in Hindi films. Saroj said that they are planning to start a Broadway show based on Amrapali, as she is very famous abroad. He added that Madhuri will play the main character if all goes as planned. The talks are still on. Feroz Khan will direct it and Javed Akhtar will provide the lyrics.

Book based on Bollywood film 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' released.

The cast and crew of Bollywood's film 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' which popularized the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, released a book based on the movie here on Monday.

Bollywood Hot Sizzling Actor Sanjay Dutt, who starred in this film as Munna Bhai, said that he enjoyed reading every leaf of the book.

"This book has the screen play of the film and it is written very well and I enjoyed reading it," said Sanjay Dutt.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra who had produced the movie was candid to say that browsing through the pages of the book was all together a different experience.

"When I started reading the screen play I couldn't put it down and I enjoyed it one more time so much because the point is when we do all that work in a movie it's a different experience. You can go back study mark it, learn and enjoy it is a very different experience," he said.
